Businesses On The Front End Of Downtown Main Street Construction Seeing Things Return To Normal
Every business along the downtown Sheridan Main Street construction project has, currently is, or soon will be impacted in some shape or form from all the work.
Some businesses have reached the light at the end of the tunnel, because the work on several blocks on the north end has finished and the road has reopened.
Chuck Magera, who owns Carroll’s Furniture, says his block was one of the first ones to close back in April, and the block reopened last week after a 4 1⁄2 month wait.
He says he credits the longevity of his business, the necessity of the products that his business offers, as well as the most important thing of all.
“We had a lot of loyal customers come and make sure that they could find us. Everybody got a few more steps in on their health counts here, so that was kind of a nice thing and parking in the back that we advertise. We hoped to think that we are one of the best places to go for quality, value and furniture here, excellent service, so I think that has really helped us weather the storm of construction.”
Main Street between Brundage and Loucks Streets closed for the construction project last week.
WYDOT and construction crews say they are hopeful that the 3 blocks that are currently closed will be finished and reopened by the end of October.
